Being a Mom…one of the most important jobs in the world!

Being a mom is something that is hard to describe…it can be one of the most joyous unbelievably amazing job or it can be frustrating, mind-blowing and just horrible…well ok that is an exaggeration!  It is different for each mom and with each child.  I cannot believe the love I felt even when my daughter was still in my tummy.  It just came natural to me.  I really never was a big fan of babies but having your own just melts your heart.  It is so special!  I would truly give my life for my daughter.  When she was younger it was so easy because she turned to me for everything and we were so close.  She is now a teenager (Well do I have to say anything else???)  Some days she is that little girl who needs her mommy and other days she is an adult making her independence known.  Just wish I could figure out which day was which…haha

There are so many days that I wish I would do things different…wish I was a better example or wish I would say the right things or do the right things.  I never know if I am getting through or if I am making a difference.  I know that I need to work on my patience and my trust.  Its hard to let go and let them make decisions – especially if they are not the ones that I would have made.  I am learning….as all moms do – learn daily.  Looking to the Bible to be my daughter’s instruction manual – I find these words in Proverbs about being a mom…

Who can find a virtuous woman? She is far more precious than jewels…
Strength and honor are her clothing, and she can laugh at the time to come.
She opens her mouth with wisdom, and loving instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the activities of her household and is never idle.
Her sons rise up and call her blessed.
He husband also praises her:
Many women are capable, but you surpass them all!
Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised.
~Proverbs 31:10, 25-30

Proverbs-31-10Pray for me that I can be like this Proverbs 31 woman and that I may always fear the Lord and that I set an example for my daughter that she can follow.  Pray for her that she will fear the Lord and grow in him.  This world is so hard and give her the strength to stand up for God.  I will pray for you as you are a parent raising a teenager in this world.  There are times that we need to have support and need to trust the way that we raised our kids.

Happy Mother’s Day to all….happy mothering!

Who are you? Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody?

I love this little fable (not sure who wrote it…) – I used to share it with my employees because we all knew that things needed to be done at work such as take out trash, organize files, etc; however it seemed like everybody always thought somebody else was going to do it and nobody did….it was always a task that anybody could have done.  Our society continues to wait for others to take action or do a chore or take care of something.  Why is that?  It is time that everybody does their part and then some!  We are always worried that we may not get as much or our fair share or that we may work harder than someone else.  I was raised to work smart, and work hard.  We have so many resources, tools, computers, etc that can “make our life easier…” well I find that often is makes my life harder and more disorganized.  It does make me feel like I don’t know who I am some-days

I hope that this blog will inspire you to be the “everybody” example and just do it – make a difference, share Jesus’ love or even take out the trash without being asked.  Quit waiting for somebody else to do it – you do it!  It is way better than nobody doing it!  Don’t you agree?

When you feel like you are a nobody – stop and think about it!  You can make a change – you can be a somebody that everybody will love!  I love this picture below because I think it really shows how special even nobody really is…

Galatians 6:3-5  New International Reader’s Version (NIRV)

If you think you are somebody when you are nobody, you are fooling yourselves. Each of you should put your own actions to the test. Then you can take pride in yourself. You won’t be comparing yourself to somebody else. Each of you should carry your own load.

I loved these verses today and it demonstrates my thoughts perfectly.  Everybody just do your part.  Be the first to step up and do something that anybody can do, but that you did!  Be proud and be the best that you can be….

This to help with your change…

Physical – Be the somebody that works out, eats healthy and encourages others

Mental – Don’t ever think of yourself as a nobody – you are definitely somebody – just figure out who.

Spiritual – Share the Word with Everybody you see and nobody will ever forget you!

Prayers for you as you figure out who you are!

Pray for me that I am somebody that can reach everybody to help them know that anybody is a nobody.  (Huh?…ha-ha)

Love ya,

The Power of ONE…it doesn’t seem like ONE person really has the power to make a difference but I know it is true.  I have experienced so many things that just ONE thing changed the course of my world, or ONE person made a difference, or ONE moment withstood time!  Be the ONE person to change others lives…maybe through smiling or offering a helping hand or maybe a word of encouragement.  There was ONE coach who started ONE cheerleading gym in our community against alot of odds, not many supporters and even many haters.  He still did it and it changed our lives.  He wanted to ensure there was a place to provide great instruction on tumbling, cheerleading and life!  This is a place where skills are improved, friends are made and family is formed.  This was a second home for so many, a place where you felt loved and encouraged.  You would think only the kids would feel this way but it was everyone – brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents – we all felt part of ONE family.  It changed my life forever!  ONE person – Phillip Boyett – you did make a difference and we all love you!  I think of kids who would not go to college if not for this gym, I think of families who would not have connected, friends that would have not met and lives that would not have been impacted.  Because of ONE person – a huge impact was made!

Don’t ever think that you cannot make a difference!  You alone can! ONE word, ONE smile, ONE prayer…

Here is a poem that expresses the POWER of ONE!  Be the ONE!

The Power Of ONE

One song can spark a moment,
One whisper can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.

One smile begins a friendship,
One moment can make one fall in luv.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal

One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.

One step must start each journey.
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.

One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what’s true,
One life can make a difference,
You see, it’s up to you!

There was another man who made all the difference in the world to save us – JESUS.  ONE man took on all the sins so that God could forgive us.  ONE crucifixion, one death – to save the world.   The ONE and only begotten son – JESUS!

There is only ONE God. And there is only ONE go-between for God and human beings. He is the man Christ Jesus. He gave himself to pay for the sins of everyone. That was a witness given by God at just the right time. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 NIRV

Physical – Take that ONE trip to the gym, do ONE pushup, run ONE mile, the first ONE is always the hardest ONE but it is for sure a step in the right direction….the POWER of ONE!

Mental – Determine how you can do ONE thing to make an impact – maybe it is tell ONE person about God – possibly they could become a missionary and tell thousands.  You are the ONE person that can start the change in others.  Be the ONE!  The POWER of ONE!

Spiritual – Serve the ONE and only God!  Give thanks for his one and only son who dies on the cross for you and me!

Prayers for you as you begin to see the POWER of ONE!

Pray for me that I will be the ONE to make a difference and that I will understand the POWER of ONE!

Love ya,
